Description

Clinquante Coupole is the mural replica of the fabric version Rêve de Rotonde from the 2014 Misia fabric collection Paris Festive. In this polyamide Jacquard fabric with geometric patterns, the weaving technique reveals a rich interplay of matt / gloss : The matt jacquard yarns create a 3D effect on the smooth, satin base. On 20 December 1927, an inauguration was held that all the Montparnos made a point of attending: the opening of La Coupole. With its huge room, surrounded by 33 marble pillars, each decorated by an artist, the place was intended to become the greatest restaurant in Montparnasse and the new symbol of the Art Deco era. That day, 1200 bottles of Mumm champagne were not enough to quench the thirst of the some 3,000 guests: the glitterati of arts and literature, the Parisian night owls and all the others
